What were the circumstances that caused you to look for an Accountant?
Our previous accountant put his prices up and we were having real difficulty managing cash flow. We couldn’t understand this as the company was producing healthy profits but cash flow was extremely tight.
How did Lorraine Borland help you?
Our previous accountant had us on the wrong VAT scheme (we were not even aware of two schemes). This instantly helped our cash flow. The director was not receiving a salary as such and was therefore over paying on personal tax and other benefits of being an employee. We were incorrectly paying CIS and Lorraine advised us how to correct this.
What is your current situation? Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?
We received excellent advice which effectively sorted out our cash flow position, this allowed us to grow the company; more than quadrupled the turnover in three years. We would never have been in a position to do this without Lorraine’s advice. We were more than happy with the service received and it completely exceeded our expectations. Lorraine is direct and very easy to deal with – there is no jargon, just straight forward, understandable explanations. Her company provide excellent value for money (she was cheaper than our previous accountant!) and would have no hesitation in recommending her services.
What could they have done better?
At the moment, we are happy with the service and see no areas for improvement at this time.
